A singer/composer of eclectic tastes and prodigious gifts, GRAMMY® nominated Theo Bleckmann makes music that is “from another planet” (New York Times) and “brilliant” (New York Magazine). Throw him on stage with genre-bending pianist/keyboardist/composer Erik Deutsch, and a magical musical journey will ensue.
These two have created together extensively over the past decade, touring the US, Europe, and Mexico. Theo and Erik’s combined sensibilities of jazz, pop, modern improvisation, and textural soundscape merge to form a dynamic musical force. Their repertoire combines original music with unique takes on other artists (including Kate Bush, Shubert, Massive Attack, and more).
Denver cornetist Ron Miles has the uncanny ability to blend into any musical surrounding whilst raising the ceiling of the group lucky enough to have him in their ranks. He and Erik (who considers Ron a mentor) have a 25 year history; Theo and Ron are more recent friends. Between these the three, the credits in their career are astounding: Bill Frisell, Meredith Monk, Laurie Anderson, Dixie Chicks, Phillip Glass, John Zorn, Charlie Hunter, and Elvis Costello to name a few… Expect big things from this new trio!
