Guitarist Mike Hyland has performed with many of the local Denver and Seattle musicians over the past 20 years. Influenced in large part by local guitar legend Dale Bruning, Hyland’s style has been described by Seattle guitarist Milo Peterson as “wide open, like Colorado”.
This project is based on Mike’s fascination with Grant Green and is specifically an exploration of some of Green’s later funk-oriented albums.
Hyland’s newest album (and first under his name) is “Senior Portrait”; an album dedicated in part to his father and family musical background.
In the Folk/Rock stream Hyland has been lead guitarist for the Andy Hackbarth Band for nearly a decade and has traveled and performed all over the US.
