Live on Stage: Johnny & Mongrels

Live on Stage: Johnny & Mongrels

Johnny Ryan (Creator of Johnny & The Mongrels) & Jeff Bostic (Co-creator of J&TM), will be accompanied by a heavy-hitting lineup of veteran rock and R&B musicians, including keyboardist Bill McKay (Derek Trucks Band, Leftover Salmon), New Orleans native Eddie Christmas on drums (Jon Cleary, New Orleans Suspects, Black Crowes) & guitarist extraordinaire, James H. Dumm (Chroma Donna, The Other Brothers).

Johnny & The Mongrels is a high-powered, New Orleans-influenced band that is “the perfect combination of a funk filled heart & a deep bayou soul.” Its founders, currently based in Fort Collins, Colorado, are singer/songwriter Johnny Ryan and singer/bassist/songwriter Jeff Bostic. Their debut LP, “Creole Skies,” was produced by JoeBaby Michaels (Neville~Jacobs, Shaun Murphy) and Scott Sharrard (formerly of The Gregg Allman Band).

“Johnny & The Mongrels make their presence felt profoundly on Creole Skies. Its strengths are manifold, its music meaningful and built to last, and Ryan as the messenger will not be denied. Creole Skies is operating on a whole different level, at once familiar, fresh and true to the human experience. When they sing and play, and it all comes together, you believe them. What a beautiful thing.”
