Bread & Jam
The community of professional musicians in Colorado is facing unprecedented pressure during the Covid restrictions. We know that for many musicians basic needs such as regular meals are not being met. There is also a sharp rise in mental health issues and substance abuse. Through a new program to serve professional music artists, Dazzle, Dazzle Presents, and Partners/Sponsors present “BREAD & JAM,” weekly live jams targeted at helping musicians during a most difficult time. The jam session will occur on Wednesdays (beginning March 31st) at Dazzle to fulfill multiple gaps in service for the community. The sessions will be led by a collective of fantastic musicians each week and the opening set will be live-streamed on the last Wednesday of the month to our broad audience of music lovers. During the jam, a food pantry for artists in need will be available along with a free meal for those participating n the jam. In addition, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays will be drop-off days for food, goods and services, as well as during our open hours for performances at Dazzle.

What will Bread & Jam events include?
A Musical Outlet
The session will provide professional musicians with a paid live music opportunity so they may continue to hone their craft together in a community of support. In addition to losing virtually all revenue sources, the loss of purpose has been a particular challenge. Providing a place to convene and enjoy making music restores some normalcy and offers musicians a chance to share what they do in a safe environment.
Dazzle will provide a free meal to those participating in the Bread & Jam jam session on Wednesdays (starting March 31st, 2021). In addition, Dazzle and its partners are providing a free Musicians’ Food Pantry during our open hours. Dazzle’s pop-up Musicians’ Food Pantry welcomes all Colorado musicians to shop for free on those days from noon-6pm. Can’t make it when we’re open? You can make an appointment by sending an email to email@example.com.
SupportDazzle provides a forum in which we can learn more about the immediate needs of professional musicians and seek additional resources on their behalf (e.g., grocery cards, emergency financial assistance, mental health support through our partnership with Music Minds Matter). Bread & Jam will also work with Rocky Mountain Music Relief, which was created in 2016 to provide financial relief for artists in need.

How else can I help?
Please email Donald Rossa at email@example.com to discuss how you can help support the Bread & Jam events.
Can my band perform for the Bread & Jam sessions?
The jam session is a collective of musicians performing together, much like a normal jam session (with safety restrictions, of course). So technically we don’t have a “band” performing. It’s just a bunch of fabulous musicians getting funky. We will be releasing a song list of tunes in the Dazzle Presents Bread & Jam VIP Jam Session Facebook Group every week so you will know what tunes to learn if you’d like to sit in.
Do I have to sit in to attend?
NO! We encourage everyone to come down and hang out. However, if you aren’t a musician and don’t intend to sit in, we ask that you kindly adhere to our policies for minimum purchases. If you are a musician and are sitting in, we will provide a free (pre-determined) meal during the jam session and inexpensive drink specials.
