Mary Stribling CD Release – 9/25

05 Sep, 2016

Denver bassist Mary Stribling will field a quintet playing originals from her new album. Mary will be joined by flutist and Down Beat jazz poll luminary Ali Ryerson, Harry Grainger on clarinet and sax, guitarist Sean McGowan, and drummer Ernie Crews.
Besides lending their talents to this concert, Ali Ryerson, Harry Grainger and Ernie Crews also appear on the new cd. This is Mary’s fourth cd but the first to feature her jazz compositions.
Although she has played in jazz groups for many years, many know Mary from the folk and acoustic music scene and from concerts at Swallow Hill with her more folk oriented band Combo Amazo. She is a founding member of Colorado’s legendary group The Mother Folkers and her song “Chocolate” has been performed on NPR’s Prairie Home Companion and the Today Show.
